PackInPro offers a two-level certification scheme for both companies and products. Based on a scientific methodology developed by an independent Scientific Committee and validated by accredited third-party certification bodies, it provides a reliable framework for measuring and verifying packaging sustainability. Designed to complement existing regulations, reporting frameworks and industry standards, the scheme enables companies to demonstrate measurable ESG performance through transparent and objective criteria.
PackInPro's certification scheme operates on two complementary levels: Company Certification and Product Certification.
The methodology is validated by an independent third-party body in accordance with ISO/IEC 17029:2019, ensuring transparency, impartiality and credibility throughout the certification process.
Company Certification evaluates the overall sustainability performance of an organisation through 42 ESG indicators, divided into three key areas: Environmental (6 indicators), Social (23 indicators), Governance (13 indicators).
Product Certification measures the sustainability performance of a specific product or product range. The assessment is based on 12 technical and environmental indicators, covering the entire lifecycle of the product, from raw material sourcing to end-of-life management.
The Validation Body, the Scientific Committee and the PackInPro Foundation operate through clearly separated roles and responsibilities, ensuring impartiality in methodology development, assessment and certification.
